Two of life’s greatest challenges can be getting free from Substance abuse/addiction and codependency.

I think we all know what substance abuse is (Drugs, alcohol et al), but did you know one of the most common roots is codependency?

But what is codependency?

Simply defined, Codependency is the compulsion to rescue or control others or be controlled or rescued by others.

Codependency is rooted in the four false beliefs:

False Belief #1: 

I must meet certain standards in order to feel good about myself. If I fail to meet these standards, I cannot really feel good about myself.  (Fear of Failure)

False Belief #2: 

I must have the approval of certain others to feel good about myself.  If I do not have the approval of these people, I cannot accept myself.  (Fear of Rejection)

False Belief #3: 

Those who fail me (including me) are unworthy of love and deserve to be punished.  (Fear of Punishment; propensity to punish others)

False Belief #4: 

I am what I am.  I cannot change.  I am hopeless. (Feelings of Shame)

How Can Celebrate Recovery Help?

 Celebrate Recovery is a step based recovery program designed to help us get free from addiction and codependency through the Love and Truth of Jesus Christ.

 Celebrate Recovery's focus is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through Eight Recovery Principles and the Christ Centered Twelve Steps.

This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.

By working and applying these Biblical principles we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.

Each Thrusday Night we gather in small gender based groups to share with one another and to help one another achieve freedom from addiction and codependency.

 What is shared in small group meetings is confidential.

When : Thursday Nights from 7 PM to 10 PM

What : A Large group meeting followed by a break out into smaller Men’s and Women’s Meetings. Small meetings are confidential. We close with Prayer,  Fellowship.

Why : Because Jesus paid the price for our freedom, there is no reason to live in bondage.

How : Through the Love of Jesus Christ and the Celebrate Recovery Program.
